Patrick Dempsey, currently serving as the President of the Omaha Police Officers Association, brings 14 years of experience with the Omaha Police Department. Hailing from South Omaha, Patrick has honed his expertise in various roles, including legislative liaison duties and specialized work in the Homicide and Gang Unit divisions.
Patrick’s deep-seated desire to give back to his community led him to join the board of the Omaha Police Officers’ Association Foundation (OPOAF). He passionately supports the foundation’s mission to foster a strong and respectful relationship between the community and law enforcement officers.
Among the numerous initiatives supported by the OPOAF, Patrick finds particular joy in participating in “Shop with a Cop,” events. His commitment to community service extends beyond OPOAF; he has also contributed to other boards, including the Guns and Hoses and Omaha Police Foundation Boards.
In addition to his board service, Patrick is actively involved in various community associations, such as the Mary Our Queen Men’s Club, the Black Police Officers Association, and the Latino Police Officers Association. He collaborates with several other non-profit organizations, including the Omaha Police Foundation, Nebraska Workforce Development, and Gross Catholic High School. Patrick’s volunteer efforts extend throughout the Omaha community, providing leadership, mentoring, and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life
